Lava has officially launched its new budget smartphone, the
Iris 406Q, in India at Rs. 7,499. Earlier the device was listed on company's
website on Wednesday.
Notably, The Lava Iris 406Q was also listed for pre-order on
Wednesday via online retailer Flipkart at Rs. 6,999. Lava says that device
pre-orders are exclusive to Flipkart, and that the Iris 406Q will be available
across national retail chain stores and multi-brand outlets by early next week.
The Lava Iris 406Q runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
out-of-the-box that can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat. It offers 3G
dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support with dual standby. The Iris 406Q features a 4-inch
display with WVGA (480x800 pixels) resolution.
It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU (Qualcomm Snapdragon
200 chipset) and Adreno 302 @400MHz GPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Lava Iris
406Q sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a
0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.
The Iris 406Q comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, and can be
expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS,
GPRS/ EDGE and 3G connectivity options. The Iris 406Q is backed by a 1700mAh
battery and measures 124x64x10.3mm.
Additionally the company claims that it has used the IML
(in-mould labelling) for the back cover which makes it scratch-resistant. It
comes in black and white colours.
